At Plum, we know you've got to have both.
When your marketing team finally has the right leadership, the work gets done right. Campaigns launch on time, systems get built to last, and your team stops spinning on busywork and starts shipping real work.
We don’t do random acts of marketing. Every campaign, every email flow, every paid media dollar ties back to your business goals - the things that move revenue, improve retention, increase conversion, and build real momentum.
This is where the plan becomes real.
01
Product launches. Seasonal promotions. Lead generation. We build campaigns that connect strategy to results, with creative and messaging that drive the outcomes you need.
02
Real segmentation, flows that feel human, and the right platform for your business (not just whatever’s easiest for us to manage). One client saw email-generated revenue triple after we moved them from Mailchimp to Klaviyo and rebuilt their entire approach. VIP early access for their first sitewide sale brought 45% of Black Friday revenue from previously dormant subscribers and new customers who finally converted.
03
We run Meta ads, Google campaigns, and other channels with clear attribution and budget discipline. One client used low-cost Meta ads to build their list, then converted those subscribers through email and SMS at an engagement rate north of 40%. Everything we spend goes directly toward your business growth - we don’t markup tools or take a cut of ad spend.
04
We treat your key pages like the front desk of your business - anticipating the next question, removing friction, adding trust cues so the path to purchase feels effortless.
05
Browse-triggered Klaviyo flows styled as lookbooks. Instagram content that makes clients say “I'm finally proud of our social media.” Blogs optimized for AI search. The kind of content that serves your customers and your business goals at the same time.
06
New product? New service? Rebrand? We provide go-to-market execution support - handling the project management, vendor coordination, and execution so launches happen on time and on strategy.
Here’s what makes our approach different.
Most agencies pitch tactics in a vacuum. They’ll build you a campaign, hand you a report, and move on to the next shiny thing without any real follow-through or connection to what your business needs. We don't work that way.
Every piece of tactical execution we handle connects to the larger strategy. We’re building systems that compound, fixing what's broken, protecting your budget from waste, and making sure the work doesn't just ship but actually drives the outcomes you hired us for.
And when something isn’t working? We IDS it. We adjust. We don’t wait for the quarterly review to tell you the campaign underperformed.
This is execution led by people who care about your business outcomes (not just their retainer).
Tactics Need Leadership
Marketing is happening. Content is being posted. Ads are running. Emails are going out. But momentum feels uneven. Costs are climbing without a clear return. Your team is busy but you’re not sure if they’re working on the right things.
That’s what execution looks like without strategic direction.
Tactics are only as good as the strategy behind them. A beautiful campaign for the wrong audience is just expensive noise. An email flow that doesn't connect to your customer journey is just spam with better design.
We handle tactical execution as part of a larger partnership because we’ve seen what happens when the two get separated - dropped balls, misaligned priorities, wasted budget, and teams working hard on things that don't move the business forward.
When execution is anchored by strategy and supported by mentorship, everything works better. Campaigns align with quarterly goals. Systems get built once and reused. Vendors get managed with expertise instead of hope.
That’s why we don’t sell tactics standalone. Not because we can’t do the work, but because we won’t do work that's set up to underperform. Our fractional CMO services provide the strategic foundation that makes tactical execution worth doing.
It’s the reason behind the campaign, the goal behind the metric, the business case that makes the work worth doing.

It makes sure your internal team can execute well and build capability over time, so they're not waiting on us for every decision. They're learning, growing, and taking ownership.

This is where strategy stops being theory and starts being revenue. It’s the campaign that launches, the system that scales, the result your leadership team can see in the numbers.

And when a client asks us to “just handle the tactics, we're fine on the rest” we help them understand why that's not the partnership they actually need.
We work fast, but we don’t skip steps.
What’s the goal? What’s the timeline? What does success look like? We agree on what matters before we build anything, so execution stays focused on your actual goals.
Project timelines, vendor coordination, platform setup, creative approval - we handle the project management so you don't have to chase down status updates or wonder if something’s been forgotten.
Email flows triggered by behavior. Ad campaigns with clear attribution. Content calendars tied to quarterly goals. Everything we build gets used more than once.
Revenue, conversion rates, retention, cost per acquisition - the numbers that tell you if marketing is working. You’ll never get a dashboard full of vanity metrics that look impressive but mean nothing.
If a campaign underperforms, we don’t wait for the monthly meeting to mention it. We IDS the issue, adjust the approach, and keep moving forward with a plan that’s grounded in what’s really happening.
If your marketing feels like a lot of activity without enough momentum, you don’t need more tactics. You need leadership.
We execute well because we lead first. And when strategy, mentorship, and execution work together, that’s when businesses stop guessing and start growing.
Let’s discuss how fractional CMO leadership can finally align your marketing with business results. We'll create a custom approach that fits your goals and growth timeline.
Can I hire you just for tactical execution?
Not as a standalone service. We’ve found that tactics without strategy lead to wasted budget, misaligned priorities, and work that doesn't move the business forward. Our tactical execution is part of a larger fractional CMO partnership where strategy leads and execution follows. That’s what gets results.
What platforms and tools do you use?
We’re platform-agnostic and choose tools based on what’s best for your business, not what’s easiest for us. That said, we have deep expertise in Klaviyo, Wordpress, Magento, Shopify, Meta Ads, Google Ads, HubSpot, Mailchimp, and most major marketing platforms. If you’re on a platform we don’t know, we’ll learn it or help you migrate to something better.
How do you decide what tactics to prioritize?
We start with your business goals and work backward. What’s going to move revenue? What's a quick win we can execute now? What’s a longer-term system that will compound over time? Then we map those priorities to your quarterly Rocks (if you run on EOS) or your annual plan.
Do you handle creative work like design, video, and photo?
Yes. We have an in-house team for graphic design, photography, and video content creation. For larger productions or specialized needs, we’ll bring in trusted partners from our network and manage the project for you.
What if we already have an agency or vendor doing some of this work?
Great. We’re excellent at managing vendors and holding them accountable. We’ll assess what’s working, identify gaps, and either optimize your current partnerships or recommend changes. We’ve helped clients switch agencies when performance wasn’t there, and we’ve helped clients get more out of their existing vendors by providing clearer direction and better collaboration.
What’s not included in tactical execution?
Platform costs (Klaviyo, Shopify, ad spend, etc.) are separate. We don’t markup tools or take a cut of ad spend. Everything goes directly toward your business. We also don’t include travel expenses for on-site work, though we’re happy to be there for key moments like launches or planning sessions.
How does tactical execution work with your other services?
Tactical execution works best when paired with fractional CMO leadership and team mentorship. Strategy gives execution direction, mentorship builds your team's capability, and execution turns plans into revenue. They’re strongest together.
